Amat Victoria Curam: What Our Motto Means to Us

The Motto of E-zone School of Computing is Aat Victoria Curam. A Latin phrase to remind us that in whatever we do preparation is key.

On the red, white and blue badge of E-zone School of Computing is the Latin phrase, “Amat Victoria Curam“. Loosely translated, Amat Victoria Curam means that Victory loves preparation. When we started in 2007, little did we know that our computer classes would some day turn into a formal training institution offering skills that are inevitably required for the modern workplace and in a modern society.

Some day, in a conversation with one of our clients, Sr. Tinka, she emphasised the need to inculcate in our students, values beyond the knowledge of using computers. This she said would be easier achieved if we had a well spelt out mission, vision and motto.

After playing around with several options, she suggested a motto that would remind us and our students that in whatever we do or planned to do, preparation was key. She went on to explain that opportunities largely favoured those that were found prepared. That is how we chose “Amat Victoria Curam“, a daily reminder that our victory was mainly guarateed by early preparation.

With the world around us going digital and at a fast pace, the need to learn these skills early is growing. Computers are around us in almost all aspects of our lives. From the board room, to the classroom and even to our dining rooms, the use of technology can be seen everywhere. That is why at E-zone School of Computing, we have classes for learners as young as 5 years and are continuosly coming up with innovative lessons to cater for the growing needs.
